Butternut Yellow is a great factory color on a Chevelle like this. It seems to represent its era correctly in a bright and distinct way. This may be an SS396 tribute, but the motor decodes to a true era-correct Chevelle 396 cubic-inch V8 block. It's attractively dressed with a bold orange block, chrome valve covers, and 396 air grabber. In fact, the whole setup is ready to be shown off thanks to everything from smooth inner walls to a newer brake booster. The V8 inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor with Edelbrock Performer intake. It fires up readily while making a terrific big block sound out of the dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The three-speed automatic transmission has a stall converter to keep you in the ideal powerband, and that feeds a stout 12-bolt rear end. Plus, features like power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front, and wide BF Goodrich T/As make for an all-around driving classic.
